Synopsis

Twenty-five-year-old Takako's comfortable life falls apart when she discovers her boyfriend is marrying someone else. Unable to face her old routine, she reluctantly accepts an invitation from her eccentric uncle Satoru to move into the tiny room above his secondhand bookshop in Tokyo's Jimbocho district — a neighborhood known for its rows of old bookstores. At first, Takako wants nothing to do with books. But living among the dusty shelves, quiet regulars, and her uncle's devotion to the shop, she slowly starts to heal — rediscovering not just a love of reading, but who she is outside of heartbreak. It's a gentle, slice-of-life story about small moments, found family, and the quiet comfort of a place that asks nothing of you except to stay a while.
